Sometimes life can be so busy that we find it hard to make time to think about really matters, the big questions of life; about faith and God and the meaning of it all. Alpha provides the ideal opportunity to do this.
Sunday 20 November is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Our worship service will be focused on this theme. We’ll hear about the challenges facing Christians in areas of persecution around the world, and will also have the opportunity to pray for them. Our preacher will be Vaughan Thomas from Open Doors.
Apocalypse Now!
For many readers, Revelation seems a strange book, full of mysterious and sometimes disturbing images and symbols. It’s no surprise that lots of people choose to skip over most of the book, going straight to the final chapter’s descriptions of the New Heaven and the New Earth.
Sunday 12 June is the Queen’s Official Birthday! We’ll be joining lots of other churches and community groups with a special event to celebrate the 90th birthday of Elizabeth II. Brunch will be served in church from 10:30, and at 11:15 we’ll pause for a short service of thanksgiving.
Everyone attending this event will receive a free copy of The Servant Queen, a commemorative book produced for the occasion, with a foreword by Her Majesty.
